My Jam Story
I've always liked pancakes - I guess they're actually crepes, pancakes for the American world are the thick ones topped with syrup and butter - and it's all thanks to my grandmother's cooking. They're really delicious and I'm lucky to have had them. If anyone asked 6 year old me what my favourite dish was, it would be pancakes (I might say the same now, might).
They had strawberry jam and I never cared enough about the other jam flavours to have a different type. I've had raspberry jam, blueberry jam, the like, but strawberry's probably still my favourite. Apricot's good, though.
My opinion on other sandwich spreads (and sweeteners because I want to include them):
- Nutella is okay in moderation, but I couldn't get myself to enjoy more than a few days without feeling a bit sick. I think similar chocolate/hazelnut spreads are better than Nutella.
- Honey is fantastic, though it's perhaps not a sandwich flavour. As a sweetener, it's the best one.
- Agave syrup is good but expensive.
- Maple syrup isn't as great as I'd have assumed.
- Peanut butter is okay.
18/31 for sure
