Replying to Bearblog comments I haven't replied to before
I'm not going to include comment sections anymore - instead, use the guestbook. Either way, I've only received four comments with Bearblog, so I don't think that will be too great a loss. I did something similar to this over on All Over 2a
On my post about misanthropy, nsmsc said: I watched Homeland for the first time this month. I collect quotes, and this is one of my favorites from the show. "Nothing good can happen in this fucked up world we've made for ourselves."
I understand that it's unwise to lump every individual into a singular category based on the actions of a few. But misanthropy, kinda like depression—and the thoughts that come with it—is an attitude that develops over time. Usually as the result of external stimuli.
Yeah, I agree, as a dedicated misanthrope I don't think it's an attitude that comes out of nothing. Also, that's a great quote.
TW (in my post on newspapers requiring you to pay to remove cookies): Is this even legal? I remember reading somewhere that rejecting cookies should be as easy as accepting cookies, if rejecting cookies involved paying a subscription fee then surely that's much harder than accepting cookies.
Yes that's true, except I think it's an EU based law and the UK isn't in the EU anymore...though perhaps the UK has similar laws against it. Theoretically, these newspapers could argue it's as easy to pay as it is to accept (though I'd argue in response: many people won't have an online banking system in place, and where the fuck is your moral compass?).
I'd also like to thank Satscoinsv from my guestbook - apparently I've helped him create a blog that's far more educational than mine could ever be. Thanks for the compliment, if you're reading!
Perhaps this post isn't one you'd want to read, since I may be broadcasting who you are to the rest of the world. But I'd like to show some appreciation to the readers of this blog, as otherwise I'd feel less willing to write a post here and there.
